Blue Bee Cider has been announced as the host venue for the 7th annual Richmond Cider Celebration, marking the kickoff of Cider Week VA. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Richmond Cider Celebration will feature 15 cideries from across Virginia, as well as local food, artisan vendors, live music by the Hot Seats and more. The cideries will be having a friendly competition among three cider regions in Virginia. Each team’s sampler flight will offer 1) an apple-only cider, 2) a barrel-aged cider, 3) a berry-infused cider, 4) a hopped cider and 5) a spiced cider.

Team Blue Ridge will be represented by: Albemarle CiderWorks, Blue Toad Hard Cider, Bold Rock Hard Cider, Big Pippin Cider, and Potter’s Craft Cider.

Team City Cider will be represented by: Blue Bee Cider, Bryant’s Cider, Buskey Cider, Courthouse Creek Cider, and Sly Clyde CiderWorks.

Team Northern Virginia will be represented by: Big Fish Cider Co., Coyote Hole Ciderworks, Old Hill Cider, Wild Hare Cider, and Winchester Ciderworks.

The Richmond Cider Celebration is “pay-as-you-go” with no cover for entry. Bottled and canned guest ciders will be available for purchase to take away. Blue Bee Cider’s tasting room will remain open for standard service throughout the day. Truckle Cheesemongers will serve grilled cheese sandwiches and First Stop Donuts will debut its apple cider donuts at this event.

The cidery courtyard will be tented and heated. The event will take place rain or shine. Free street parking is available in the neighborhood. The festival is family- and pet-friendly.
